@hedgemall reactivated with a nice explanation by Twitter

Tonight I received a very nice email explanation from Ben at Twitter explaining why my @hedgemall account was suspended. It is almost two weeks to the day since @hedgemall was suspended. Here is the email from Ben:

"Ben, Oct 26 07:13 pm (PDT):
Hi,

Thanks for your email.

Aggressive following and follow churn (repeatedly following some accounts and then un-following others) are a violation of the Twitter Rules. Accounts that engage in these activities are suspended for a minimum of one week. It's been more than a week since your account was initially suspended; as such, I've unsuspended your account.

Please strive to obey the Terms of Service and Twitter Rules:

I'd recommend that you remove access to any applications that promise to "add followers fast" including Twollow, as repeat violations may result in permanent suspension.

Thanks,

Ben"

So, my suspicion was correct. @hedgemall was suspended entirely due to my Twollow account, which I cancelled very shortly after @hedgemall was cancelled. "Aggressive following and follow churn."

I still don't quite understand the difference between optimizing a website with metatags to attract visitors versus utilizing keywords to auto-follow to attract others to follow you back.

Although I read @fredwilson tweets quite regularly, I haven't yet been active on his blog.

I think I'll post this question there as my first comment on his site.

Ciao.
