Today I received my free Timberland shoes, via Earthkeepers. I had signed up for Earthkeepers, not so much for their overrall belief, but moreso because it was the idea of the CEO of Timberlands, Jeffrey Swartz, who is an outward supporter of children with learning differences and jewish day schools -- both causes that are dear and important to me. What a wonderful thing to receive an email for no apparent reason that I would receive a free pair of $100 leather boat shoes because I signed up for Earthkeepers. What a wonderful pat on the back for Timberland and boost to their brand by having me tell my friends about this generous act of reward for a "follower" of their company and cause.
